510006079 - Model Kit,1:72 Vietnam War - Vietnam Army/Vietcong
The standing model is a recreation of the Vietnamese army during the Vietnam War. The forces of the National Liberation Front (NLF) consisted of both regular units of the North Vietnamese Army and irregulars. The term "vietcong" was used as a generic term for NLF soldiers, but in general iconography it represents the irregular guerrillas. The Vietcong were armed with Soviet-made weapons such as the ubiquitous AK-47 Kalašnikov assault rifle or the SKS semi-automatic carbine. In January 1968, they took part in the massive Tet Offensive on the night of the Vietnamese New Year.
