The floor model is a replica of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VIII. Many variants of the representative fighter named Spitfire MK.V., but one of the most present variants was the MK.VIII version. This model featured several improvements, such as fuel tanks in the wings, a retractable tail wheel, shortened ailerons and enlarged rudders and elevators. From the second half of 1943, the MK.VIII variant was used in the Mediterranean as well as in the Pacific.
