The floor model is a replica of the F4U-1 Corsair "Birdcage". The F4U-1 had a unique 2,000 hp engine and a massive 4-metre propeller and also very characteristic inverted wing doors. The Corsair was the first American fighter to reach a speed of 640 km/h. It took part in operations from 1943 onwards. The aircraft took part in operations from 1943 and proved a formidable opponent to the Japanese Zero Fighters due to its powerful 12.7mm machine guns.
