The floor model is a replica of the Panzerwerfer 42 on SWS. The Schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper (SWS) was developed as a medium semi-trailer and was used to transport supplies to frontline troops or as a towing vehicle for light artillery. However, a number of other applications were developed on the large rear flat cargo space. One modification was the Panzerwerfer 42 on SWS, a 15-cm Nebelwerfer 42 rocket with 10 barrels fired above a storage compartment for armoured ammunition. The rocket launcher, developed as a device for making smoke screens, was soon used as real artillery, capable of firing high explosive ammunition. It could shoot the rockets with impressive and deadly precision.
