300035323 - Model kit, 1:35 Israel. Tank M51 Super 105mm

During the 1960s, the Israeli Artillery Corps upgraded their M4A1 Sherman tank with the powerful French 105mm CN-105-F1 tank gun and redesignated it M51S. The longer gun ensured that the recoil effect was reduced and the counterweight was placed at the end of the gun turret. The 460 hp diesel engine and the combination of Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension (HVSS) and the wider T80 tracks give the M51 improved mobility. During the 6-Day War in 1967, the M51s saw action against the newer T54/55 tanks as well as the JS-3 tanks of the Egyptian, Iraqi and Syrian armies. The 105 mm gun of the M51 could take on these opponents because of the HEAT ammunition used. After the war, the M51s continued to be used and were not taken out of service until the early 1980s.
