The British battleship Prince of Wales was the second ship of the King George V class. Shortly after her completion in March 1941, she took part in the historic hunt for the German battleship Bismarck. In October, the Prince of Wales was sent to Singapore to reinforce forces in the Far East in the event of an anticipated attack by the Imperial Japanese Navy. Her short service of only 9 months ended dramatically when she was intercepted by Japanese bombers in what became known as the Battle of Malaya. The model faithfully reproduces the Prince of Wales, the set also includes the two Japanese bombers of type 96 "Nell" and type 1 "Betty" to recreate the battle scene.
