Model Kit,1:72 Battle Set Waterloo La Haye Sainte
From 16 to 18 June 1815, French and Allied troops clashed on the battlefields of what is now Belgium. First came skirmishes at Ligny and Quatre Bras, followed on 18 June by the most famous battle in military history at Waterloo. The English General Wellington had entrenched himself with his men in the fortified farm of La Haie Sainte. In the afternoon, Napoleon ordered Marshal Ney to launch the attack on the farm. The fighting was fierce and by early evening the French were on the verge of taking the farmstead. But too late, shortly afterwards the Prussians led by Field Marshal Blücher arrived to support the British army and inflict Napoleon's worst defeat.
