The Lockheed® P-38 LIGHTNING® is a fast and heavily armed American long-range fighter from World War II. This unusual twin-engined aircraft had a nacelle with a pilot's cabin located between two fuselages. Called "The Flying Frame", it performed very well, resulting in a long production run from 1941 to 1945 and an excellent number of kills by American pilots. The aircraft was not decommissioned until 1965.

P-38 LIGHTNING was released under the original licence of the American defence company Lockheed Martin. The aircraft, faithfully reproduced on a scale of 1:32, consists of 545 COBI building blocks.
