The set with a clamp brick model of the German DR BR 52 steam locomotive / Ty2 from the Second World War is part of the completely new "Trains" collection in the COBI range. The construction made of clamp bricks faithfully reproduces the body, proportions and details of the legendary steam locomotive, which is probably the most popular and well-known to all railway enthusiasts worldwide. The 2-in-1 special edition contains up to two different sets of additional blocks with which you can build a model of the German locomotive DR BR 52 with German markings from the Second World War or a locomotive with Polish markings of the Polish State Railways from the Second World War - post-war period of the People's Republic of Poland. In addition to various clamp bricks with different symbols, numbering and markings, the set also includes modified, larger front and rear lights for the Polish design, selected bricks in different colours and two different figures: a German locomotive driver from the World War II era and a Polish locomotive driver in the post-war PKP uniform with a characteristic national emblem - the Polish eagle with the royal crown removed by the Communists.
In addition to details such as symbols, numbering and lettering, the 1:35 scale locomotive model has numerous "clock" imprints in the engine room of the locomotive. Thanks to the easily removable roof of the engine room, you can take a look at the faithfully reproduced equipment that powers the vehicle. Attention has also been paid to detail such as the imitation of burning coal in the chimney!
As with a real steam locomotive, the entire wheel train is coupled together so that it moves simultaneously. Inside the model are gears that form a complex mechanism that ensures realistic movement of the wheels and the entire drive. Simply push the model carefully to move the entire system.

No less than four different wheel designs of the locomotive, some of which contain rims, i.e. special edges, make the model good on block tracks and overcome block curves with a gradient scale from R88. It is worth mentioning that the model is fully compatible, i.e. it fits tracks of other terminal block brands.

The set includes two interchangeable plates with the name of the locomotive, to choose from: German BR 52 and Polish Ty2. The COBI company has also produced its own form of a clamp brick that imitates a fragment of the track. The set contains five such sections with a total length of approx. 65 cm. The track is made using a modern two-colour spraying technique, which means that each individual section, about 13 cm long, is an element - a monolith - made of two different colours of plastic that are joined together. The rails in the colour grey steel stand out clearly against the very realistic brown railway sleepers. There are no visible tenons (studs) on each sleeper, which enhances their realism, and each of them is covered with a board texture, i.e. an imitation of wood grain. Tracks can be attached to building boards and have a technical hole thanks to which you can permanently attach the track to the railway diorama with a screw or nail, for example.

The BR 52 or Ty2 or Ty42 is a German-built freight steam locomotive that was manufactured in many European factories between 1942 and 1945. It was a very cheap, simple but very reliable steam locomotive. In Poland, after the Second World War, more than 1,200 of these vehicles were used in the works of the Polish State Railways. The locomotive could pull goods trains with a total weight of up to 620 tons at a speed of 80 km/h or 1,700 tons at a speed of 50 km/h. The locomotive was also used many times as a steam locomotive. The locomotive was also used many times to pull passenger trains.
