Product Description

From a set of 720 COBI bricks you build the most famous of the Shermans - the JUMBO model M4A3E2, i.e. the Cobra King, which was the first to invade the Belgian town of Bastogne. The model contains elements covered with high-quality prints that do not wear out even with intensive use. Particularly noteworthy is the very characteristic graffiti of the tank crew. The design perfectly reflects the original forms of its historical role model. Movable wheels and tank tracks, opening hatches, access to a block engine, movable turret and barrel as well as two figures guarantee the satisfaction of owning this set inspired by true history! Topped off with a sign with the name of the vehicle.
Sherman Jumbo is a great collector's set, just right for people who have experience in building more complex sets. A must for lovers of military and history.

The Sherman M4A3E2 "Jumbo" is a short series of well armoured tanks of only 254 units. The Shermans were armed with a 75mm gun mounted on a modified M62 mount.
The Jumbo, named "Cobra King", was the one to receive both the 76mm gun and the coaxial machine gun. It was issued to the 37th Tank Battalion of the 4th Armoured Division at the end of October 1944 and was the tank of the commander of Comrades C. The tank became famous during the German offensive in the Ardennes in the winter of 1944. It was the first to break through the German lines and reach the soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division who were trapped in Bastogne, Belgium. To commemorate this momentous event, the crew of the tank painted a special graffiti, reproduced by COBI with permanent prints. The tank's subsequent fate is no less exciting. Some sources say that the tank took part in Operation Hammelburg, General Patton's secret mission, where it was destroyed in March 1945. For many years, the tank's debris was displayed on war memorials under false markings. It was not until 2001 that military chaplain Keith Goode helped uncover the true story of an anonymous wreck. The tank was carefully restored at the Patton Museum and now resides at Fort Benning, Georgia. In Bastogne, Belgium, however, a neatly painted replacement for the famous Sherman "Cobra King" has been installed.
