House Bolton has the strongest armoured unit on the battlefield. The cavalry of the Flayed Men are encased in heavy armour and their horses are in similarly massive hulls. Only the toughest and largest horses can withstand the great weight imposed on them by all that steel. While they may not be the fastest cavalry unit, they are certainly the toughest. And their own war flails make enemy defences look pointless as their spiked balls wrap around limbs or bypass shields.
