Hurdy-Gurdy - 292 Components
The hurdy-gurdy is a stringed instrument whose strings are vibrated by an integrated rotating mechanism. The traditional instrument is thus modeled on a box lyre. Accordingly, the oldest evidence of this widely used church instrument dates back to as early as the 10th century and has been passed down to the present day in the form of the organistrum.
In connection with steampunk, a postmodern trend of retrofuturism, the brand manufacturer UGEARS(R) presents its own concept of this melodious style of playing and lets it sound in the highest tones, bound to form. The models of UGEARS(R) are therefore visual and art objects at the same time, which bring the mechanism of string playing to light. For this purpose, a crank handle is used to trigger a rotary movement, the technical know-how of which can be traced all the way to the sound vibration. The 292-piece wooden model is thus a rarity and still life in one, which equips the octave of the hurdy-gurdy with a total of six different tones. The openwork surface is richly decorated and offers the music enthusiast a deep insight into the birth of sound.
