The RMS Titanic is probably the most famous ship in the world. Everyone knows her tragic story of colliding with the iceberg on her maiden voyage and sinking in the icy waters of the North Atlantic on the night of 15 April 1912. Her construction began on 31 March 1909 at the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast.
The launch took place on 31 May 1911 and the fitting-out was completed on 31 March of the following year.
