Its creation is linked to the need to produce a simple and cheap car for the masses, true to company boss Pierre Boulanger's motto, "quatre roues sous un parapluie" (four wheels under an umbrella). The car was extremely simplified, economical and allowed the comfortable transport of 4 people with luggage. Dubbed the ugliest car in the world at the Paris Salon in 1948, it became an object of desire, contrary to the opinion of the critics. During its 41 years of production, almost 4 million examples were made in factories all over the world. Today, this car has cult status and is a collector's gem. 1980 saw the premiere of a special version of the legendary Citroen 2CV! Limited Charleston was produced in only 8,000 copies!
