Product Description

An armoured half-track transporter that everyone clearly associates with the German army. The Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf. A was faithfully reproduced from building blocks. The model was covered with high quality, durable prints. The prints imitate the vehicle's equipment and paintwork from the beginning of World War II. The vehicle is equipped with moving wheels with real tyres. The chain traction, which consists of realistic block joints, works and behaves like the real thing while the vehicle is being moved. Storage compartments, opening rear double doors, machine guns and other accessories add to the van fun. The whole is completed by two figures representing a mechanic and a technician. These are all-new figures to add to the collection. Includes a plate with the name of the vehicle!

The Sd.Kfz. 251 infantry fighting vehicle is a perfect set for small and large building block fans. Perfect for both a shelf and a block diorama. Older brick fans will appreciate the model as a collector's item and inspiration for building realistic dioramas or their own constructions. More experienced designers will find plenty of scope for modification with this model. The German Army had a whopping 23 official versions of the Transporter, designed for a variety of tasks. You can easily disassemble the guns and try to create a fire support version with a cannon or support vehicle. Adding a tarp or canopy is one way to create a field hospital version.

Sd.Kfz. 251 is the basic armoured half-track personnel carrier of the German Army during World War II, its production lasted from 1939 to 1945. It was produced in four series models from A to D and in 23 basic and multi-field versions, of which the standard and most numerous version was the Schützenpanzer Sd.Kfz. 251/1. The design of the Sd.Kfz. 251 transporter was based on the modified Sd.Kfz. 11 chassis. The armoured hull was made of welded armour plates and consisted of two large parts connected by bolts. The front part ended behind the driver's seat. It protected the driver, commander and engine. The combat compartment, which had been opened before, was intended to accommodate 10 soldiers. The rear, large, outward-opening door gave access to the interior.
