Cash Register - 405 Components

The cash register is the ultimate tool of the trade for every salesperson and, as the name suggests, a data capture device. Often colloquially referred to simply as a cash register, the device was first developed in the second half of the 19th century. James Ritty, the landlord and owner of a saloon, was so annoyed by the constant shoplifting by his employees that he developed the world's first fully mechanical cash register in 1879. The resourceful inventor used mechanisms from the steamboat industry for his models. The UGEARS(R) Vintage cash register follows these concerns and has his present trade with a code lock.

The wooden model, consisting of over 400 individual parts, is a small work of art, which was designed in the style of retrofuturism and steampunk. The often open-worked surfaces reveal every mechanism and are the highlight of every showcase as artful visual objects. Both coins and banknotes are accepted by the cash register through special openings and can thus be an attractive coffee cash register in everyday office life. The UGEARS(R) model "cash register" is rather a small work of art, in that each banknote properly disappears via lever technology into a cash compartment.
