The Pan Pacifica sourcebook describes a cosm full of corporate intrigue and ruthless competition, where a handshake often distracts just long enough to plunge the knife into your back. Direct power is too visible, so soft control is exercised through social means – like universal basic income and apps on the ubiquitous Zuzu phone. Well-placed character assassinations in the media are often a prelude to the more direct violence of corporate assassins and Kanawa security forces. The cosm ranges from glitzy nightclubs where corporate spies mingle with status-conscious executives and GenMod-modified chimeras, to remote island labs where new threats are developed.
