Island of the Ghouls is the first adventure campaign for Sandy Petersen’s Cthulhu Mythos. It can be easily inserted into any fantasy world and combines the heroic aspects of the greatest role-playing game in the world (5e) with the cosmic horror of H. P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu myth.
In four acts, the characters explore the island and the city of Farzeen, meet ancient forces slumbering in the boiling volcano of the island, explore forgotten temples in the jungle and get caught between the fronts in a revolt of ghouls. In the end, they have to prevent one of the Ancient Ones from waking up and ushering in the end of the world.
During the course of the campaign, characters can level up from level 1 to level 14. The game requires the basic rules for 5e as well as Sandy Petersen’s Cthulhu myth.
