Santobal A name that leaves no one indifferent in southern Aventuria. Giant fist-sized diamonds are said to rest there in the black rock, a foundation of AlAnfa’s fabulous wealth. But for those who are forced to do forced labor in the narrow, life-threatening tunnels of the prison mine, this is hardly any consolation. Because Golgari’s wings are never far from this place and it is said that whoever was sent there is already as good as dead, none of the prisoners would have ever left the mine alive.
Most of those in Santobal Imprisoned with no prospect of pardon are pirates, murderers and unscrupulous villains. Women and men who may well deserve their heavy punishment. But for those unfortunate ones who alone have struck a dark turn of fate in the diamond mine, the daily struggle for survival means a gauntlet run. You are caught between the whips of merciless overseers, the pickaxes of sinister felons and the constant danger of being buried alive under a collapsing tunnel.
And so nobody would ever think of going there voluntarily go – unless there is a really good reason.
