The Codex of the Sword is a rules expansion volume for DSA5, dedicated to the mundane rules of the game, such as skills and combat, and summarises and supplements numerous contents of the Aventurian Compendium I and II.
The book presents the basic rules for the use of skills, highlights all the talents a heroine can use in her career and presents an overview of the common conditions and statuses an adventurer can suffer from.
You can individualise your heroes with the numerous special skills. The codex contains numerous general and combat special skills, is dedicated to talent styles, advanced special skills as well as fate point special skills, so that numerous professions are given a speciality through them.

The focus rules section introduces you to rules on hit zones, special combat situations, researching and asking around, and item crafting rules, among others. In addition, the Codex of the Sword also deals in detail with the description of group rules, such as theme groups, so that game rounds with a pirate or knight background are supported.
