On a mysterious mission for the Society of Scouts, Count Varian Jeggare and his devil-blooded bodyguard Radovan travel to the distant land of Tian Xia on the other side of the world. When a catastrophe forces him to seek shelter in a monastery of warrior monks, “Brother” Jeggare finds himself competing with the disciples of the Dragon Temple while trying to unravel a royal mystery. Meanwhile, Radovan must serve a corrupted master by defeating the deadliest champions in the land and discovering the secret to slaying an immortal foe – all while trapped in the body of a devil, taken hostage by the legendary Vibrating Hand attack. Together with a crude army of wild creatures and spirits, the two companions must take the lead in an ancient conflict that will lead them through an exotic land to the gates of heaven and hell, culminating in a final confrontation with the nefarious Lord of Devils.
