Get on your broomsticks and prepare for an exciting round of Quidditchâ„¢ pinball with the latest addition to the Harry Potterâ„¢ collection from Ugears. This working pinball game is based on the fictional wizarding sport of Quidditchâ„¢ from the popular Harry Potter novel and film series, where players fly around a stadium high in the air trying to throw or hit the Quaffleâ„¢ through three rings on the generic side of the pitch, scoring ten points each time. The team that catches the Golden Snitchâ„¢ scores 150 points and wins the game.
To start the game, press the ‘New Game’ sign on the front of the model to send the Quaffleâ„¢ to the plunger. Press the ball feed button on the front right to bring the first Quaffleâ„¢ into the start position. Then pull the plunger back and release it abruptly to catapult the ball onto the playing field. Keep your hands on the flipper buttons on the right and left side of the game machine and press them to keep the ball in play for as long as possible. Shoot the three targets to clear the way to the rings, which are defended by a moving Keeper (Ron Weasley) and two Drivers (the Weasley twins – Fred and George). Each time a Quaffleâ„¢ goes through one of the rings on the far side of the pitch, you score ten points (press the button at the top right of the scoreboard to update the score) and the Quaffleâ„¢ rolls back to be sent back into play. Defend your own three rings by not letting the Quaffleâ„¢ roll through the pinball levers, otherwise the Quaffleâ„¢ is out of play. As soon as all three Quafflesâ„¢ have fallen through your own rings, the game is over.
Catching the Schnatzâ„¢ is the biggest challenge of the game and also the surest way to win. To succeed, a Quaffleâ„¢ must land on top of the ramps by shooting it up the inclined launch ramp (this launch ramp takes up its position as soon as the centre target is shot over). If the Quaffleâ„¢ lands on the right-hand ramp, it is sent back into play. If, on the other hand, it lands on the left-hand ramp, it runs down it until it sets the Snitchâ„¢ in motion, which then rolls into the waiting arms of Harry Potterâ„¢. Congratulations, you’ve won! Press the button at the top left of the scoreboard and a banner will appear, awarding you 150 points and announcing your victory!
