CULT – Black Madonna, role play book (DE edition)

When New Year’s Eve changes from 1941 to 1942, all candles in Leningrad’s churches go out. The faces of the saints turn black. The fabric of reality is tearing. In the morning twenty priests are found dead judged by their own hands.

A silent girl with many secrets is found in a locked cellar. Nobody knows who she is or where she lives. Since there are no other options, she is taken to an orphanage where nothing is what it seems.

On the same cold winter night, Dimi, an old icon painter, meets a strange woman on the way home. She shows him her face and gives him an order, then disappears without a trace. Back in his small apartment, he immediately begins to paint a new icon. An icon representing a Black Madonna.

The Black Madonna is a legendary CULT campaign that was previously unpublished outside of Sweden and France. Her six separate episodes lead the player characters on a haunting adventure that is connected with the angel of death Chagidiel and the archon Binah and her servants.

The trip takes place in 1991 in a recently reunified Germany and takes the player characters to a Soviet Union on the verge of collapse to unravel the mystery of what happened in Leningrad during World War II. Until they are kidnapped into a world of dark dreams and venture into the deep infernos to save themselves.

The Black Madonna has been rewritten for KULT: The Lost Divinity and updated with a completely new chapter describing the 1991 world and new rules for creating characters associated with the setting and the story.
