The standing model is a replica of the Tirpitz, which posed a constant threat to Allied convoys. The Allies used considerable resources to eliminate the Bismarck’s sister ship. Eventually, the Tirpitz was bombed by the Royal Air Force and sank. The differences to her sister ship are shown in detail in the TAMIYA model kit, for example the quadruple torpedo tubes are characteristic of the Tirpitz.
