The floor model is a replica of the F4U-1 Corsair “Birdcage”. The F4U-1 had a unique 2,000 hp engine and a massive 4-metre propeller and also very characteristic inverted wing doors. The Corsair was the first American fighter to reach a speed of 640 km/h. It took part in operations from 1943 onwards. The aircraft took part in operations from 1943 and proved a formidable opponent to the Japanese Zero Fighters due to its powerful 12.7mm machine guns. The TAMIYA model kit version impresses with its accuracy of fit as well as its attention to detail.
