The floor model is a replica of the first variant of the Panther D. The Panther was designed to be able to face the Soviet T-34. Accordingly, the Panther was equipped with a 7.5 cm cannon and sloped armour for high survivability and manoeuvrability. Until September 1943 about 840 Panthers of this variant D were produced. The TAMIYA model kit version impresses with a high degree of accuracy of fit as well as attention to detail.
