The stationary model is a replica of the Subaru Impreza WRC first shown in 1997, which was the first car to fully utilise these rules due to rule changes in the World Rally Championship. In 1999, improvements were made to the engine and gearbox, such as an electronically controlled throttle system, which ensured better throttle response.
