The Honda CX500 Turbo was the world’s first commercially available motorbike with a turbocharger, which was presented at the Cologne Show in 1980. Equipped with a water-cooled V-twin engine and a turbo unit developed jointly with Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries. The combination produced 82 hp, and although it had 500 cc, it had the same power as a 1-litre motorbike. The front suspension was equipped with an anti-nose-dive mechanism, and the rear suspension was fitted with Pro-Link suspension.
