In Pyramido: Lost Treasures, you embark on a daring expedition to uncover the wonders of lost pyramids hidden deep in the heart of the jungle. Legends tell of countless precious gems hidden in the labyrinthine corridors. With nothing but an improvised map and your unwavering will, you venture into the dark depths of the pyramids to explore their ever-changing corridors and search for the sparkling gems. But be quick, because your competitors are also in search of fame and fortune. May the best expedition win!
The players take turns making their moves. The player whose turn it is carries out 4 steps in succession: 1) Select a tile and 1 corresponding gemstone, 2) Refill an empty gemstone area if necessary, 3) Reveal a new domino, 4) Place the domino you just picked up. The players go through 4 stages. In the first stage, they have to place the dominoes in such a way that they form an area of 5×4 or 4×5 blocks.
Their aim is to form the largest possible contiguous coloured areas from the coloured blocks. At the end of a level, they place coloured gems on the coloured areas to activate the coloured areas. They then count how many gems are depicted on the blocks of an activated contiguous coloured area. This gives them their score.
In addition to the coloured gemstones, there are also mythical gemstones. These are jokers, so to speak, and 2 of them can replace one coloured gemstone. Mythical gems that have not been used give you extra points at the end of a level. If you have activated an area with 3 coloured gemstones instead of 1, the area scores double points. The player with the most points at the end of the 4 levels wins the game.
