On the Trail of Horror – Campaign volume

The Victorian era – an era in which ghosts and supernatural events were a widely accepted part of research and life. But shortly before the end of the 19th century, spiritualists, mediums and charlatans are engaged in a fierce competition with scientists who want to prove to them that everything they believe in does not exist.
The Society for Paranormal Exploration And Research (SPEAR) sends its employees out to investigate such events and check their veracity. After all, not every seemingly inexplicable incident can be attributed to the workings of supernatural forces … or perhaps it can?

On the Trail of Horror is the first campaign volume for Private Eye andcontains three fully developed adventures and two scenario suggestions in addition to various game aids:
– A monster has committed several murders on the Channel Island of Sark. But why would a supposedly supernatural creature commit these acts?
– In a London mansion, the detectives confront the power of the devil and try to save a possessed young woman from a terrible fate.
– In the lonely country estate of Willow Hall, the detectives investigate the mystery surrounding the ghosts of two children who have driven away the new owner.
– During a funeral in London, a corpse is reanimated by a mysterious death whistle. But where has the undead disappeared to?
– In the end, the investigators come across a brutal cult that is murdering its way through London and must clarify the identity of the Fallen Prince. But there may be a much bigger secret behind these deeds.
