Hexentanz, board game (DE), for 2 to 6 players, ages 8+

The bewitched confusion witch’s dance: the wild witch’s dance waves forwards, backwards, sometimes fast, sometimes slowly. The aim is for the players to get the dancing witches home before dawn. Since all witches in the family game Hexentanz wear a black cape, they all look the same. Soon no player will know which witch is being moved. Is it the green herb witch, the blue weather witch or the red fire witch? Only the six on the die allow a look under the witch’s hat.

By the way: If a witch lands on a space where another witch is already dancing, she must dance back at least seven spaces or to one free space behind it. Then all players are briefly informed what kind of witch this is, and on we go. Tactics, luck and a good memory help the smartest players to be the first to get their witches to the correct place of departure – that is, the herb witches on the green fields, the fire witches on the red ones. When they arrive at their destination, they are unmasked and if one of them has landed in the wrong place in the witch’s dance, it flies to the correct place of departure.
