Wolfgang Mayr, born 1944, studied at the University of World Trade and at the University of Vienna (newspaper studies, history); journalist, 1968-2005 at the Austria Press Agency (APA), 1997-2004 editor-in-chief. Founding member of the “Initiative Quality in Journalism”. In addition to the Tarock books, his publications include: Die Tante Jolesch und ihre Zeit. Eine Recherche (with Melita and Robert Sedlaczek, 2013).

Robert Sedlaczek, born in 1952, studied German, English and journalism at the University of Vienna. Initially editor at the news agency United Press International (UPI); from 1980 employee of Federal Chancellor Bruno Kreisky, then of Federal Minister Ferdinand Lacina; member of the ORF Board of Trustees (1986-1990); Managing Director of Österreichischer Bundesverlag (1989-2003); columnist for the Wiener Zeitung, author and editor. Most recently published: Das unanständige Lexikon. Taboo words in the German language and their origins (with Christoph Winder, 2014).
