Queen Gimnax of Nalos once again sends the players to new territories with The Cartographer & The Cartographer: Distant Expeditions. This expansion contains three modules with new maps to map and 12 associated cards and rules. Players can use the modules together with both The Cartographer and The Cartographer. In addition, 4 “Hero*in” promo cards are included for play with The Cartographer.

Frost Reaches – The Realm of the Frost Giants: Icy winds blow across the snowy wasteland that both the Kaiika and the fearsome Frost Giants call home. Only a few scraps of maps have survived from the last expedition that tried its luck here. These now serve as a first orientation. At the beginning of the game, for example, the type of terrain that has to be entered is already specified for some fields. If you also map the entire shore of the frozen lake, you can recover a valuable treasure from its depths.

Kethras Steppe – Red Tooth & Gold Belly: Above the grasslands of Kethras Steppe rise the twin towers on Red Tooth Peak and Gold Belly Mountain. The players must not only map the terrain, but also rekindle the mysterious beacons of the two towers. These fires represent the eyes of Kethra, the goddess of gates and portals. Queen Gimnax hopes to win the goddess’ favour in this way and thus open portals to other worlds.

Hornhelm – The Market in the Wasteland: Traders from all regions of Ulos are drawn to the legendary market of Hornhelm to sell all kinds of goods. Fine fabrics, aromatic spices and impressive handicrafts adorn the numerous displays. The cartographers are particularly interested in those goods that can speed up the tedious work of cartography or improve the accuracy of the maps. At the end of each season, they have the opportunity to spend their collected gold coins to buy goods from the market.
