The Bugatti Type 57 was developed by the then son of company founder Jean Bugatti. He contributed the essential elements for the vehicle. Due to various improvements to the vehicle, the Type 57 was produced in 3 different model series. The Bugatti 57 SC was produced exclusively from 1936 to 1938. The SC version of the Bugatti was characterised by the Roots supercharger, which enabled the vehicle to reach a top speed of approx. 225 km/h with the help of the 3357 cm³ displacement. The vehicle’s power output at 5500 rpm was 147 kW, which corresponds to 200 PS. Officially, only 41 vehicles of the 57 SC type left the production halls, as the S-type chassis was then discontinued, although there were some subsequent modifications of the Bugatti 57 S, which were retrofitted with a supercharger.
