The Kübelwagen Type 82 is one of the most famous and most common motor vehicles of the Second World War. It was designed by engineer Ferdinand Porsche and produced by Volkswagen.

The aim of the project was to produce a simple vehicle that was easy to build, maintain and repair. The sheet metal was straight and the design had no bulges. The chassis was also simple and characterised by a central tube and a mount for the rear engine and gearbox.

The Kübelwagen had a petrol engine with a displacement of 998 cm3; it reached a top speed of 80 km/h. The vehicle had no all-wheel drive. Although the vehicle did not have four-wheel drive, it proved to be extremely reliable in any terrain due to its excellent design and accompanied the campaigns of the German Wehrmacht in all environmental conditions and on all fronts.
The Kübelwagen could be armed with a mount for the MG34 or MG42 machine guns.
