The stand model is a recreation of the Confederate army led by Lee in 1863, sending a large contingent north to Pennsylvania. Clashes ensued with the Union army at Gettysburg, where the largest battle ever fought on American soil took place. After three days of desperate fighting, the Confederates were forced to concede defeat. At Gettysburg, the artillery of the Army of the Potomac Union helped to stem the Confederate advance, which affected the outcome of the battle.
