This DAF tractor unit is a redesigned version of the successful previous series. The XF105 offers high reliability and comfort in long-distance transport. It features very good mechanical reliability and excellent engine performance in a wide range of conditions and meets the strictest environmental standards. In addition, the cab offers the driver an extremely high level of protection in the event of an accident. The name “Smoky” comes from the racehorse that belonged to the driver’s father (in this case “Junior”) and that vanished into thin air like a puff of smoke in front of his opponents during the race when there was a chance to win. In a Wild West atmosphere, the horses are also the protagonists on the airbrushed sides of his DAF XF 105.
