The Mc Donnel Douglas F-15 is an American all-weather, single-seat fighter designed with the specific objective of achieving and maintaining air superiority. The F-15 Eagle was developed in the 1970s to provide the US Air Force with a modern and extremely powerful advanced fighter. The F-15C represents the more modern version and is now mainly used by the US Air Force, the US National Guard and the air forces of several countries such as Japan, Israel and Saudi Arabia. The F-15 took part in the 1991 Gulf War and was able to guarantee air superiority over coalition forces. It was the most effective fighter with an impressively high number of enemy aircraft shot down. Armed with a 20mm. M61 gun can use a variety of air-to-air missiles. Thanks to the two powerful Pratt & Whitney F-100 turbofan engines after burrs, the “Eagle” can reach the top speed of Mach 2.5.
