The Panzerkampfwagen V “Panther” was certainly one of the most famous tanks of the Second World War. It was created as a direct response to the Soviet T-34 and KV-1 tanks, which were far superior to the Panzer III and Panzer IV tanks on the Eastern Front in terms of performance and armament. It was powered by a V-12 Mayback engine with 700 hp and was equipped with an extremely effective 75 mm 42 KwK cannon with high velocity, especially for anti-tank defence. Thanks to a solid design that optimised protection, mobility, speed and armament, the Panther can be considered one of the best tanks of the Second World War and was used on all major fronts from Italy to France and the Eastern Front.
