The M4 Sherman is the most important American medium tank from the Second World War. It was produced between 1942 and 1945 and became the most famous American tank. It was dynamically developed during the war. It was equipped with a 75 mm gun. The ammunition and combustible engine initially made the Shermans an easy target for the heavier German tanks. Only after the design was refined could the roles be reversed.

A total of about 49,000 examples of all versions of the Sherman were produced. The tank was used by the armies of the USA, Great Britain, Poland, France and the USSR, among others. It had the reputation of being a reliable, easy to build and well-armed tank.
