The Lim-5 fighter is a Mikoyan MiG-17F built by the Polish aviation industry under Soviet licence. The production of LIM aircraft led to a significant development of the aviation industry in Poland. The Lim-5 aircraft were equipped with the WK-1F engine, which was also produced under licence.
120 Lim-5 and 40 Lim-5P aircraft were delivered to the German Democratic Republic. East German aviation ordered parts from Poland for aircraft repairs, modernisations and modifications. The LIM-5 served in the German Air Force from 1958 to ~ 1985.
The LIM-5 (MIG-17F) model aircraft was designed in 1:32 scale and consists of 575 high-quality elements. All markings, emblems and lettering on the model are imprints that will not wear off during use. The set has movable elements such as wheels and a hinged cabin in which a figure of a German pilot can be placed. The camouflage reproduced from the blocks is particularly beautiful. The set includes a presentation stand with a sign with the name of the set and the nationality mark. Thanks to the intuitive instructions with clear symbols, assembly is easy. The aircraft is a must-have for all aviation, military and military technology fans. It is also a perfect addition to the Armed Forces, Cold War and Korean War collections. In this series, COBI has also released LIM-1 and LIM-5, MIG-15 aircraft in the Soviet version and the Czechoslovak S-102 and MIG-17.
