Panzer II Ausf. F is a German light tank that was used most intensively in the early stages of the Second World War. This is one of the later development versions of this vehicle. It was produced from 1941 onwards. Ausf version F had thicker armour (up to 35 mm at the front), which increased the protection of the crew. Its armament included a 20 mm cannon and an MG 34 machine gun. Although the Panzer II was primarily designed as a reconnaissance tank, it was frequently used during the campaigns in Poland, France and on the Eastern Front. Over time, as its weapons and armour became obsolete, it mainly fulfilled support and training functions.
