The B-52 Stratofortress is undoubtedly the most famous and best-known long-range strategic bomber in the history of aviation. Produced by the US company Boeing from 1955 onwards, the long-range bomber has long been a symbol of the Cold War and has equipped flight units of the US Air Force’s Strategic Air Command.
It has been produced in many versions and has gradually evolved to better meet changing operational requirements. The B-52H is the latest iteration of the famous American bomber, featuring the introduction of updated engines to ensure greater flight range and better performance. Crucial interventions were also made in the areas of on-board avionics, electronic countermeasures and weapons equipment. A significant number of B-52Hs are still in active service with the US Air Force, proving to be one of the longest-lived aircraft in history.
